Lazio are determined to add one more midfielder to their ranks, as Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber surfaces on the scene.

Lazio Buy Two Players & Push for Third

The Serie A club has already sold Taty Castellanos to West Ham United and Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce. On Wednesday, Lazio president Claudio Lotito confirmed that these two players will be replaced by Petar Ratkov and Kenneth Taylor, respectively, while promising more January additions.

Lazio Eyeing a Move for Quinten Timber

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, the Biancocelesti are gunning for another midfielder, with three main targets on the shortlist. As the transfer market expert reveals, Lazio have joined the chase for Timber, whose contract with Feyenoord will expire at the end of the season.

Why Timber Opportunity Entices Lazio

The 24-year-old, whose twin brother Jurrien plays at Arsenal, has a host of suitors around Europe, but none of them have managed to lure him just yet. Therefore, Lotito and Angelo Fabiani are hoping to pounce on the situation and strike a deal with the Rotterdam-based club. As a right-footed box-to-box midfielder, Timber would be a natural replacement for Gundouzi, whereas Taylor is left-footed.

Alex Toth & Giovanni Fabbian Also on Lazio’s Shortlist

In addition to the Netherlands international, Pedullà reveals that Lazio continue to closely monitor promising Ferencvaros midfielder Alex Toth. The highly sought-after midfielder is only 20, and he’s considered one of the best talents to emerge out of Hungary in recent years.

Finally, Giovanni Fabbian is now deemed a fallback option, perhaps because Maurizio Sarri doesn’t consider him suitable for his playing system.

Toth the Favorite?

For his part, Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina also reports the same three-man shortlist. However, he insists that Toth is Lazio’s ultimate first choice for the role, while Timber and Fabbian are the alternative options.

    1. AlthoughI like Alex, Timber is better right now. Would go for him simply for that but again, the Hungarian is going to fly high in the future.
