At the Stadio Bentegodi, Lazio recorded their first win since the turn of the new year, taking full advantage of a fortunate own-goal from Hellas Verona defender Victor Nelsson.

Here are our player ratings for every Biancocelesti player that took the field on Sunday, including the two debutants.

Lazio XI (4-3-3)

Ivan Provedel – 6.5

The goalkeeper only had a couple of saves to make, but did well to parry away Domagoj Bradarić’s curling effort.

Adam Marusic – 6.5

The Montenegrin made a vital intervention at the back in the second half, and tested Lorenzo Montipo with a dangerous free-kick, but his shot was too central.

Mario Gila – 6.5

A commanding display from the Spaniard, who was one of the few players who were genuinely trying to advance the play in the first hour or so.

Alessio Romagnoli – 6

As always, the former Milan captain cut a calm and collected figure at the back, ensuring Giovane had little joy in the final third.

Luca Pellegrini – 5.5

The Italian looked livid after being hooked early in the second half, but his last contribution was a vital clearance that prevented Giovane from aiming at an open goal.

Matias Vecino – 6

A hard-working display from the Uruguayan veteran, who lasted on the pitch until the final whistle. Engaged in a physical duel with his former Inter Milan teammate, Roberto Gagliardini.

Danilo Cataldi – 6

This wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing display from the stand-in Lazio captain, but he still offered important contributions in the defensive phase.

Kenneth Taylor – 6.5

An encouraging full debut from the new Lazio player, who was thrust into the action 48 hours following his arrival. His display lacked a marquee moment, but he looked lively and involved. An impressive outing considering the circumstances.

Gustav Isaksen – 5.5

The Dane started on an encouraging note, but faded as the match progressed. He’s unlikely to start next week based on his current form.

Tijjani Noslin – 5

The Dutchman looked determined to make an impact, but he overdid it with his almost-chaotic movement. He was all over the place and gave the ball away more often than not.

Matteo Cancellieri – 6

The Italian winger filled in for the suspended Mattia Zaccagni on the left side, but he only came to life in the last 20 minutes after moving to his original role on the right. Set up the winner by picking up Lazzari with a delicate through ball to Lazzari.

Substitutes

Manuel Lazzari – 6.5

The experienced right-back was denied by the official records, as Lazio’s winner was registered as an own-goal, but his perfectly-timed run to the box deserves all the plaudits.

Petar Ratkov – 6

The young striker showed interesting flashes on his club debut. Set up Cancellieri with a clever ball that could have earned Lazio a second goal.

Nicolo Rovella – 6

The Aquile’s rhythm instantly improved when the Regista made his return to action after four months. However, he lost Amin Sarr on one occasion, but was lucky that Antoine Bernede wasted the chance.

Pedro – 6

The veteran was an instant upgrade on Isaksen, even if it wasn’t a vintage Pedro performance. Won a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Reda Belahyane – N/A

  1. I hope Cancellieri learns to trust Ratkov. He denied Ratkov an easy breakaway… I didn’t understand that decision.

  2. Am i the only one when watching the lazio game was not so enthusiastic, I wasn’t that all interested. I eventually switched to watch the MAN U game. They way the guys are handling my beloved LAZIO it hurts so much

    1. It never gets that bad I turn over ffs.
I know they’re not playing the brst but I still went to Rome and watched them draw with Fiorentina.

  3. For me Kenneth did well for a debut two days after signing with 1 training session. As we go and he gets used to Serie A he will know to position himself better and pick the right rhythm. Sarri will help a lot with his positioning and things will get better and better, I’m convinced.

Ratkov the same, and I think when everyone will start to know him better, the combinations the touch and go and so called tiki taka will follow.

But MY highlight is Rovella being back
My God he is something else, I am BUZZING to see him move 😍
