Brentford have been keeping close tabs on Matteo Cancellieri, and they’re now preparing to present an official bid to Lazio.

The high-flying bees are currently fifth in the Premier League standings, and they’re seeking some reinforcement on the market to maximize their chances of finishing in the top spots and secure their first-ever qualification for a European competition.
The English club reportedly sent scouts to monitor Cancellieri in the Biancocelesti’s last two outings against Fiorentina on Wednesday and Hellas Verona on Sunday. Moreover, reports in the Italian press claimed that Lazio tried to convince Brentford to sign Gustav Isaksen instead, but the West Londoners only have eyes for the Italian winger, especially after watching him in action
Brentford to Present an Offer for Lazio
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, the Premier League club will submit a concrete offer for the 23-year-old by Wednesday. The Bees are expected to put €15-16 million on the table.
Lazio Ready to Sell Cancellieri for the Right Offer
At this stage, it is quite clear that Lazio are willing to sell any player for the right price. They already offloaded Taty Castellanos to West Ham United and Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce last week. The Argentine striker and the French midfielder were both valued at €30 million, so it remains to be seen if €15 million would be enough to convince Claudio Lotito to send Cancellieri packing.
Lazio’s Busy Hectic Mercato
The Biancocelesti have already replaced the departing duo with Serbian striker Petar Ratkov and Dutch midfielder Kenneth Taylor. They’re still expected to sign a right-footed midfielder (potentially Alex Toth), and a left winger who can cover for Mattia Zaccagni, with Daniele Maldini and Lorenzo Insigne emerging as the favorites. On the other hand, they haven’t been seriously linked with right-wingers thus far.

Really? He is an average player having a decent season, he’s selfish and wants to be the star.
This is a win for Lazio, he’s not going to get any better than his current level. He’s been average for years already.

After yesterday’s performance solidies that he needs to go. I would keep Isaksen over Canciellieri. Ratkov was wide open and could have put Lazio up 2, yet he chose to try to make a shot at goal that went no where.
If Brentford are willing to offer 15€ for Cancellieri, I say get the deal done as soon as possible. He’s only an average player, not great by any means. Also he’s poor finisher. Cancellieri has had couple of decent performances so we need to get rid of him while we still can. His form will be dropping and then nobody wants the guy..
