Lazio have reportedly identified three potential replacements for Bournemouth-bound goalkeeper Christos Mandas.

The Background

The 24-year-old has been placed on the market, as he’s no longer happy with his status at the club. The Greek custodian became a regular starter during the second half of the previous campaign under Marco Baroni, but Ivan Provedel regained his spot in the summer following Maurizio Sarri’s return to the club.

Bournemouth Secure Agreement with Lazio for Cristos Mandas

In recent days, Bournemouth decided to launch an onslaught for Mandas, and they’re apparently on the cusp of reaching the finish line. According to Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina, the two clubs have reached a full agreement on the formula and figures.

Lazio Could Collect €20m from Mandas Sale

The shot-stopper will sign for the Cherries on loan until the end of the season for €3 million, with an obligation to buy for another €16-17 million that would become an obligation if the English club qualifies for Europe and Mandas reaches a certain threshold in terms of appearances. The source adds that Lazio are searching for a replacement before giving the final green light.

Filip Stankovic

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reveals that the Biancocelesti have shortlisted three Serie B goalkeepers, who could fill in for the Greek international. The first is Filip Stankovic, the son of former Lazio midfielder Dejan Stankovic. The 23-year-old is an Inter Milan youth product who has been plying his trade at Venezia since the summer of 2024.

Jonathan Klinsmann

The second name on the list is also a second-generation player who plays in Italy’s second tier. Jonathan Klinsmann, the son of Germany legend Jurgen Klinsmann, is a 28-year-old shot-stopper who represented the likes of Hertha Berlin and LA Galaxy in the past, but has been a Cesena player since February 2024.

Lorenzo Palmisani

Finally, Lazio are keeping tabs on Lorenzo Palmisani, a 21-year-old Frosinone youth product, who has been a regular starter this season. He made 20 appearances in Serie B, registering eight clean sheets and conceding 18 goals. The youngster has also represented the Italian national team in various age groups, and currently plays for the Azzurri’s U21 side.

  1. I don’t understand this bussiness at all, u sending one of the best stoppers on a dry loan only to come and sign unrated keepers to replace your gem… am I wrong to think lotito and his guys are on some weird Jamaican wee

    1. I think he listened to one of my previous comments and considers it cheaper to go for serie B players 🤣 but I also said to bring Italians so maybe Palmisani lmao

      1. Burky I remember your post, unfortunately they heard you lol.

From top rated players to Serie B nobodys, doesn’t make any sense.

The only reason I can think of is he’s gearing up to sell the team, but that’s a pipe dream.

        1. Saving money bro, that’s his cheap ass reason. Recently he could learn from Atalanta, Bologna or Fiore tina how to do business and none of these clubs are bigger than our Lazio yet spend more and do it well. We are a laughing stock by now sadly
