Lazio Ultras Announce Stadium Return Against Milan in ‘One Last Act of Love’

Lazio organized fan groups will make a one-off return to the Stadio Olimpico for Sunday’s clash against AC Milan.

The Background

The Curva Nord supporters launched an open rebellion against Claudio Lotito’s regime, accusing the president of putting his own interests above Lazio’s, as evidenced by the diminished quality of the squad at Maurizio Sarri’s disposal, and demanding the club’s sale.

Therefore, the Biancocelesti have played their last four games at a virtually empty stadium, as the majority of the fanbase heeded the Ultras’ calls to boycott the matches, much to the dismay of Sarri and his players, who have repeatedly urged the fans to return to their seats.

Lazio Supporters to Return for AC Milan Showdown

But ahead of Sunday’s Serie A contest against Milan, the fan groups have decided to take a new approach. They have opted to show up at the Stadio Olimpico for a one-off, in what they described as ‘one final act of love’ in the statement released on their Instagram page on Tuesday.

WE FATHERS, CHILDREN, GUARDIANS OF “THAT” HISTORY

The history of S.S. Lazio is made by us supporters — that damned history — built by those who love these colours unconditionally, without interests or convenience.

The history of Lazio, that damned history, was written by Fortunato Ballerini, the president who decided to turn the pitch of the Rondinella ground into a great “war garden” to help the people of Rome during the World War I.

The history of Lazio, that damned history, was written by Giorgio Vaccaro, the general who refused a merger out of respect for something that was born pure and has remained so for 126 years.

The history of Lazio, that damned history, was written by those madmen of 1974 who, led by the immense Tommaso Maestrelli, carried the capital’s first team to glory and to its first Scudetto against the overwhelming power of the football lords of the north.

The history of Lazio, that damned history, was written by Eugenio Fascetti who, together with his players, chose to stay — solely out of love — at the helm of a group that saved a club that was being torn apart.

The history of Lazio, that damned history, was written by Sergio Cragnotti, the president who turned the dreams of a people — who stood firm in the stands despite a thousand storms — into reality, taking us to the highest peaks in Italy and Europe.

The history of Lazio, that damned history, was written by Vincenzo Paparelli, who died in the stands of the Curva Nord, and by Gabriele Sandri, killed by an executioner — both bound by their boundless love for our Lazio.

The history of Lazio, that damned history, is made by us — those who follow it every damned Sunday, support it, love it as the very reason we live.

Lazio Ultras Preparing Grand Cheography on Sunday

The supporters promised to deliver an epic tifo that will most likely illustrate their stance against Lotito and his management.

Only a greedy man with a cold heart could fail to understand the history and the feelings that move these people. And for that reason we have no choice but to leave them alone.

But before saying goodbye, we have decided to dedicate one final act of love to this sporting season. We invite all our Lazio brothers to enter and fill every section of the Stadio Olimpico for the match against AC Milan on Sunday the 15th.

Let’s give ourselves one last choreographic display. Let’s show our support for the team and the coach. Let’s keep making our dissent heard.

Then, for home matches only, we will no longer enter the stadium until the end of the season.

It is a very painful decision, one that for the first time will see us away from those stands that are our home. But we believe this is the only way to make this ownership understand that we will not be complicit in their failures.

FOR LAZIO. FOR LAZIO FANS. FOR OUR HISTORY.

The showdown between Lazio and Milan will kick off on Sunday at 20:45 CET. The last time these two sides met, the Biancocelesti eliminated the Rossoneri from the Coppa Italia thanks to Mattia Zaccagni’s header.

  1. Yeap…they coming back to watch lazio get decimated 🤣🤣🤣🤣…i see the boys fighting but by the end of the day, its the class that would show, and honesty AC MILAN is far ahead of lazio right now on paper

  2. This season is already over. I don’t mind the decision of the Ultras, but after this match, the boycott should be restored in order to expel the greedy Lotito from Lazio.

  3. This gives Lotito an even bigger headache… The boycott will be in effect until the end of season, they’ll travel to support Lazio in the all important Coppa Italia game, but most importantly – they declared their support for Sarri…

This adds another layer for Lotito to consider when he inevitably sacks Sarri… Crazy times.

  4. Wow! Very bold move which adds another headache for Lotito.

    1) boycott until the end of the season; but will be present for away games
    2) MASSIVE statement will be made on Sunday vs Milan
    3) They declared their support for Sarri…

How does Lotito sack him now? Surely, that won’t repair order with the fanbase… Crazy times

  5. I don’t think many believe to win against Milan, the reason for coming is, as stated above out of love for Lazio, the coach and to show Lotito the stance that won’t falter.

    Avanti Lazio, avanti Laziali 🩵🤍

  6. By the way, Rabiot is suspended for this one and I believe Modric(and Milan as a whole) will be way less effective without the French man. Jimenez being there won’t make a difference. I only wish Motta has a good match 🙏 and we can have our say.

  7. without Cataldi or Rovella our central midfield is non existant. we cant rely on Belhayne or Patric in that role, as we will be overrun.

    1. Play the young Pole then, at least he can run the whole match and has ball co troll better than both mentioned. We need to try something or change formation
