Hellas Verona sporting director Sean Sogliano is reportedly heading towards the exit door, and Lazio could be his next destination.
Sean Sogliano’s Background
The 55-year-old has built a solid reputation after serving as a football director for over two decades. He first made a name for himself at Varese between 2004 and 20011, and also had experiences at Bari and Padova, in addition to brief spells at Palermo and Genoa.
Sogliano is currently in his second stint at Verona, having already worked for the club between 2012 and 2015. He made his return to the Bentegodi in 2022 and has helped the club register major capital gains thanks to his ability to poach young players on the cheap and sell them for considerable profits. The likes of Tijjani Noslin and Reda Belahyane are prime examples of his work.
Sogliano Wanted at Lazio
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Sogliano could be set to leave the Gialloblu when his contract expires at the end of the season, even though the hierarchy will try to keep him. The two parties should hold talks soon.
Pedulla reveals that the sporting director has several admirers, but only unveils Lazio as a potential suitor.
Angelo Fabiani Would Become Lazio General Director
The transfer market expert reveals that the Aquile could shake things up at the upper-management level, with the club’s current sporting director, Angelo Fabiani, potentially promoted to role of General Director, which would make way for Sogliano.
As the source explains, Sogliano’s expertise aligns with Lazio’s strategy, which is increasingly leaning towards signing talented young players. The Biancocelesti are expected to undergo a major revamp, especially with nine players running on contracts expiring in June 2027.

And what of Sarri? Ain’t yall kicking his ass out
Maybe you could start a gofundme? If enough capital is raised Lazio could relieve him of his duty for just under 12million euro. So even if Sarri would agree with a 60% salary, we’re talking about 7 + million.
Lazio has serious financial issues, unless Sarri leaves voluntary or agrees with a significantly reduced sum. It isn’t responsible business, as Lazio needs to hire a replacement as well.
I already wrote it when Baroni came with bunch of his former players and I write it again – take stuff from Verona and you will become new Verona. Are our future goals to avoid relegation and finish the 17th? Because that is what these people know and do. You are bringing this small mindset to Lazio.
Lazio unless some major investor comes, would significantly benefit from only signing young talent. Sign them for cheap and sell them for high. Not proven means low salaries. Which is exactly what Lazio needs to do, reduce the salary bill while increasing the transfer value.
Until there’s a new stadium, surviving is probably more realistic. While undoing years of mismanagement.
Any fan screaming for a high profile signing is clueless about the state Lazio is in.
I understand this may look uninspiring with Lazio continuing to farm Verona, but this would actually be a MASSIVE pick up for Lazio.
Sogliano’s track record for recruiting young talent is excellent, and *should* influence Lotito/Fabiani in the transfer market.
Sogliano brought in the likes of Simeone, Cabal, Ngonge, Ilic, Orban, Giovane for dirt cheap while registering massive capital gains through the transfer market since 2022. He also did some nice piece of business for Verona by dumping Reda and Noslin on Lazio for 26m…
Us as a fanbase need to embrace the rebuild.
Sounds good David!
Look at Verona’s team …we will let Basic go and bring in a truckload of cheap Africans.
