Lazio veteran Pedro thanked his teammates and the technical staff for the wonderful memories they shared during their time together.
The 38-year-old is one of the most decorated players of his generation. He won 26 trophies while representing Barcelona, Chelsea, and the Spanish national team. His accolades include a World Cup, a European Championship, three Champions League trophies, and a Premier League trophy.
Pedro’s Almost Unique Journey From Roma to Lazio
In 2020, the winger arrived in Italy through the gates of Roma, but left the club after an underwhelming experience. Afterwards, he joined an elusive club of players who made a direct switch from one Roman rival to another as he signed for Lazio as a free agent in the summer of 2021.
Poaching Pedro proved to be a brilliant coup on Lazio’s part. It’s the equivalent of hitting the jackpot at one of the finest New York Casinos online. The veteran has been a key player for the club over the past five years, but he has now decided to hang up his boots and return to his home country.
Although the Spaniard wasn’t able to add another medal to his extraordinary cabinet, he will leave Stadio Olimpico with incredible memories. He contributed with 38 goals and 19 assists in 208 appearances for the club.
Pedro Thanks Lazio Teammates
On Saturday, Pedro will have his last hurrah when Lazio host Pisa in the final round of the campaign. But on Wednesday, the 2010 World Cup winner had the chance to bid his teammates and the technical staff farewell during a dinner in his honor as reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi.
It’s a special day, a somewhat sad day because my story with Lazio ends here, but at the same time a happy one because I’m very pleased to be here with all of you.
I’ve shared all these years with you guys, and you’ve always treated me in the best possible way. You made me feel very important, and that means a great deal to me. I always wish the best to all of you and to Lazio. Thank you for being here — to the families and to every one of you: for me, this is truly very special.
Pedro Considers Lazio His Second Family
Pedro described Lazio as a ‘real family’, revealing how he has always felt at home during his stay at the club.
I don’t want to talk too much, but I wish the best to this family. I’m sure that a part of me will always remain here as well. I was fortunate enough to experience so much with this shirt, and leaving it weighs heavily on me.
But I leave with my head held high, because I gave everything. You always made me feel like an important player, and this is a real family to me. I feel a lot of respect and great admiration for this group.
One Last Appearance on Saturday
It remains to be seen if Pedro will feature as a starter against Pisa or come off the bench, but he will certainly be given the chance to take the pitch one last time.
Sadly, the Lazio organized fan groups won’t be around to greet him due to the ongoing protest against Claudio Lotito, but they had already said their farewell after the Coppa Italia defeat to Inter Milan.

Legendary player, glad he was playing for Lazio. Wise decision to move on though, hope he finds regular playing time elsewhere.
