Lazio are reportedly willing to entertain offers for Reda Belahyane and Petar Ratkov, who have yet to impress in Rome.

The duo are part of Gennaro Gattuso’s pre-season squad, but according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, neither is considered integral to the manager’s plans. Belahyane has yet to receive an offer from Italy, but a Turkish proposal could arrive in the coming days, explains the source. As for Ratkov, he could make way for a new centre-forward, especially after his poor display against the Primavera.
Reda Belahyane Has Become an Afterthought at Lazio
Belahyane is a young Moroccan midfielder who rose through the ranks of OGC Nice. After spending a year at Hellas Verona, he made a €10 million move to Lazio in February 2025. However, the 22-year-old has struggled for playing time in the Italian capital, even when Maurizio Sarri’s midfield was pared down to the bones last season.
Belahyane has made only 20 appearances in his 18 months at Lazio, most of them off the bench, and has contributed two assists.
Lazio Open to Replace Ratkov With a More Clinical Striker
As for Ratkov, he joined Lazio in January 2026 as a direct replacement for Tary Castellanos, who signed for West Ham United. The Serbian striker had decent numbers at RB Salzburg, but he has yet to open his account for the Aquile, although he has only featured for 228 minutes across eight appearances.
The 22-year-old cost Lazio €13 million six months ago, so a similar figure would be required for the club to sell him outright; otherwise, a temporary departure could be sought out.
It’s better to sell them both while someone is still willing to pay for them. They aren’t at Lazio’s level, and they never will be.
Who is held responsible for signing Ratkow? Paying 13 mios for a player that doesn’t get any chance? Are we going to listen to the preferences of the moron Gattuso?
Ratkov was signed by the Fabiani/Lotito duo without consulting with Sarri. Ratkov is a bomber/target man which didn’t suit Sarri’s system.
Gattuso’s system has potential for a true 9, but so far, all reports about Ratkov have been extremely underwhelming…

It’s pretty insane but typical Lazio stuff, when in need for a striker. Lazio signs a striker, one that doesn’t fit one bit in the tactical profile that the coach is searching for. So he doesn’t play and with no real chance to make it into the squad. By now the player has lost likely his confidence and now trying to sell him. Proper mismanagement.
Get rid of that access weight!
Loaning him out within Italy might help, the idea of trying to sell him without giving him time. Dubious choice it would be, for sure.

With the zero net, it short term might make sense to actually sell. As it opens up the chance to sign players.
Dia, Romagnoli, Gigot, Pellegrini and Lazzari definitely need to go. Zaccagni preferable as well. Highly doubt there will be suitors though for Dia and Gigot. (wage vs skill)
