After a 24-hour blitz, Lazio have an agreement with Inter Milan for Davide Frattesi, who will make way for Curtis Jones.
Lazio & Inter Milan Finalizing Frattesi Transfer
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Italian capital club revived their interest in the 26-year-old, who started his career at their academy before moving to Roma. Thanks to their excellent relationships, the two clubs have seemingly reached a swift accord, as confirmed by the most reliable sources in Italian football.
Frattesi to Lazio: Done Deal
Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina, who was the first to break the story, revealed that Lazio and Inter were exchanging documents and that a medical has been booked. Shortly afterwards, he announced that the deal was done. Sky Sport Italia correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio also confirmed that an agreement in principle has been reached.

The Formula & Figures
All sources agree that Frattesi will initially join Lazio on loan with an option to buy that could turn into an obligation under certain conditions. However, the sources are reporting different figures. For instance, Fabrizio Romano and La Lazio Siamo Noi expect the deal to be worth €15 million. On the other hand, Alfredo Pedulla believes the costs could reach €20 million.
Curtis Jones to Finally Move From Liverpool to Inter Milan
Pedulla also confirms that Frattesi’s departure will allow Inter to finalize the long-anticipated transfer of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, which has been put on ice since the start of the summer, as the Italian champions needed to make room for the Englishman.

Wow! This is a way more what I expected from mercato. He’s the piece what was missing in Lazio midfield. Great signing.
Still no striker and arguably also missing a defender with Romagnoli likely still departing without a transfersum being paid.
Start saying no to romanistas
It’s “romanisti” for plural, “romanista” for singular, mate.
And why not ? As long as the players give 100% for the team, I don’t mind. They can be romanisti, interisti, juventini, milanisti, but as long as they respect the Lazio jersey, then all are fine !
Lazio has had a failing youth academy for a long time, a total inability to consistently get talents from the youth into the main squad and give them opportunities. While Roma is famous for bringing up Italian talent.
So if you’re a roman and the son of parents that support Lazio or you’re a laziale yourself. For a player’s career going to Roma’s primavera is sadly almost always a way better choice. If the parents want to stay in Rome that is.
Lazio is in a terrible shape because of things like things.
So if they’re Roman and they want to play for Lazio, great! Candreva was also great for Lazio.
I have mixed feelings on this…
Lazio can’t afford Frattesi’s salary (5.19m), and I’m sure they’ll trigger the transfer clause…
From what I can tally up, they’ll need to offload a minimum of 2 players in order to afford Frattesi. Romagnoli is gone, and 1 more will need to go. Ideally, Pellegrini/Lazzari as they’re expiring.
But, they still need a CB, and a striker which I don’t see how they afford with Frattesi on board.
Loaning a player that the season after will have a too high wage if he gets signed. Wouldn’t be an issue had Lazio been a club that was highly capable of selling players. That 50% sell on fee, is quite awful than again, if he performs 30 million isn’t a crazy sum to ask. But it feels like a desperation signing where indeed the numbers don’t add up.
Gigot being injured makes getting rid of him also even harder. Pellegrini, Lazzari and Romagnoli indeed. But also Belahyane would benefit from playing time or a transfer. And Dia how to get rid of him will be a puzzle. Pryzyborek I think needs to get chances.
Hautekiet with a 5 million transfer clause, maybe if Atalanta is willing to pay 2 million that transfer becomes feasible.
