Lazio are planning to make one last decisive push to bring Sassuolo striker Andrea Pinamonti to the Italian capital.

Lazio’s Transfer Business This summer

The Biancocelesti have plugged the holes at the back by signing Danilho Doekhi, Josip Sutalo, and Alfonso Pedraza, while Davide Frattesi returned to his boyhood club to bolster the midfield department. On the contrary, Gennaro Gattuso is still waiting for his long-desired attacking reinforcement.

Lazio Turn to Andrea Pinamonti

After missing out on Mauro Icardi, Franjo Ivanovic, and Santiago Gimenez, Lazio turned to Pinamonti, who has been considered a fallback option since the start of the summer. The player has already agreed personal terms with the Biancocelesti, who met his agent, Giuseppe Riso, on several occasions.

Personal Terms Agreed

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Pinamonti is ready to sign a five-year contract that earns him just over €2 million per season. However, it remains to be seen if the two clubs can reach a final agreement.

The Formula

As the Roman newspaper explains, Lazio can only afford to sign the 27-year-old on loan with an option to buy. The club has been restricted to a net-zero transfer market, so they can only spend on new signings through funds received from fresh sales. Thus far, they have only offloaded Mario Gila and Ivan Provedel.

Lazio & Sassuolo Negotiating Pinamonti Deal

While Sassuolo have reluctantly consented to the formula, they must first extend the striker’s expiring contract to protect their interests. Moreover, they are seeking a significant loan fee. Therefore, Claudio Lotito raised the offer from €1 million to €2.5 million, and could soon improve his bid to €4 million, thus getting closer to the €4.5 million the Emilians are seeking.

In addition to the €4 million loan fee, Lazio will offer an option to buy for €8 million, thus meeting Sassuolo’s €12 million asking price. CdS believes the next 48 hours could be decisive on this front.

  1. Not sure why but this guy reminds me of Floccari…

Seems a good target man who can keep the ball, bring others into the game and score. A modern CF.
