Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri is apparently a wanted man, with four Italian clubs showing interest in his services.
Matteo Cancellieri Has Yet to Fulfil His Early Promise at Lazio
The 24-year-old has been on the Biancocelesti’s books since 2022, when he made the move from Hellas Verona. The Italian had two loan spells at Empoli and Parma between 2023 and 2025, before returning to Formello last summer.
This season, Cancellieri started in both the Coppa Italia defeat to Mantova and the Serie A win over Bologna, but has yet to convince. At the Renato Dall’Ara, the winger was hauled off at half-time in favour of the returning Gustav Isaksen, who proved to be an immediate upgrade on the right flank.
Why Lazio Can Manage Without Cancellieri
The Dane is expected to be Gennaro Gattuso’s first choice, at least when he regains his best physical condition, having only recently returned to training, while the versatile Tijjani Noslin can cover on the right wing when required. Therefore, Cancellieri might be considered surplus to requirements, and Lazio could be tempted to sell him this summer before his contract expires next year.
Parma Want Cancellieri Back
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Parma are hoping to bring the Italian back to the Ennio Tardini. The two clubs would have to work out a permanent transfer due to the player’s expiring contract. The source believes a €4 million transfer fee could prove sufficient given the circumstances.
Fiorentina, Bologna & Genoa Also Tracking Cancellieri
On the other hand, Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina doesn’t mention anything about Parma, but insists that Fiorentina, Bologna, and Genoa have all enquired about Cancellieri. The next few days should bear important developments on this particular front, as the transfer deadline nears ever closer.
Imagine selling Lazzari, Ratkov, Cancellieri and Artistico. 🤣 Would be quite a shocker, would turn into a decent mercato after all.
There would obviously still be Pellegrini or Tavares to offload and the anchor Gigot. With Przyborek also probably being best to be loaned out to a Serie A or B side. Belahyane sell or loan.
Romagnoli as good as he is, probably also best to leave.
It’s good that clubs are interested, but Lazio should be careful with thinning out the squad.
8/25 are already carrying injuries. Ratkov being sold should be the only major priority. With Marusic being injured, this leaves Floriani and Lazzari as the only 2 at RB.
Cancellieri can be sold as he’s terrible. Awful decision making, and completely out of control. 4m for him would be a blessing.

@Alexander: Pellegrini is for the third option still owed 2 million euro. So if someone is currently willing to pay a transfer sum to relieve lazio of his 10 months contract. Fine business, than get a new player in.
I would still keep Pelligrini. He has been an effective Left back and loves the club and has that fight in him unlike Tavares who doesn’t want to stay at Lazio. Canciellieri, Dia have not been effective and Ratkov still hasn’t shown his worth.

Selling Lazzari, Tavares, Cancellieri and Ratkov would be more than great. Release Gigot he’s never fit.
We are in economical chaos and sign Pinamonti for How many millions, still we have players we can trade. Cancellieri we should get every cent of him. I hope Tavares can stay. I can see him as RW in slow Serie A. Signing Pedruza or whats his name was a big mistake. Tavares Pellegrini was perfect. Rather School that man as a CB and let the pair stay
