Lazio vs Midtjylland: Recent History

Lazio recently lost star striker Ciro Immobile to a frustrating hamstring injury, but they did not let this prove problematic in their last outing as they secured a confident 2-0 win away to Atalanta.

Midtjylland were held to a tight 1-1 draw with strugglers FC Copenhagen in their weekend match and they’ll be looking to bounce back against the Biancocelesti.

The last clash between these two took place last month and was disastrous for Lazio, who suffered an incredibly painful 5-1 loss to Midtjylland.

Lazio vs Midtjylland: Team News

Lazio only have one absence heading into their Europa League clash but it’s a painful one; talismanic forward Immobile has been ruled out of action until the new year due to a hamstring injury, forcing Maurizio Sarri to tinker with his frontline a little.

Midtjylland’s only absence is Brazilian forward Júnior Brumado, who has been sidelined since August with a muscle issue. The 23-year-old has previously scored 13 goals in 82 appearances for the Danish outfit.

Expected Starting Lineups

Sarri is expected to rotate the Lazio squad a little ahead of the match, starting Mario Gila and Patric in defence. Luis Alberto is also likely to return to the midfield, leaving Matias Vecino on the sidelines.

Midtjylland are set to deploy an incredibly similar starting 11 to the one that drew with FC Copenhagen on the weekend, although forward Sory Kaba is likely to be benched in favour of Pione Sisto.

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Hysaj, Gila, Patric, Marusic; Milinkovic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Pedro, Felipe Anderson, Zaccagni.

Midtjylland (4-3-3): Lossl; Tychosen, Dalsgaard, Sviatchenko, Paulinho; Martinez, Olsson, Evander; Isaksen, Dreyer, Sisto.
