“It Is Vital That Lazio Wins Against Cagliari” – Former Defender Gigi Corino Hopes That the Biancocelesti Secure Three Points This Weekend

Lazio is heading into the fixture against Cagliari Calcio on a high note.

The Biancocelesti have won their last five fixtures in Serie A. Furthermore, they sit just two points away from a top-four spot that would allow for them to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, Cagliari comes limping into the matchup, having lost four consecutive matches, and sitting in the relegation zone.

For Lazio, these are the opponents that they need to take care of and secure all three points.

Ahead of Lazio’s matchup against Gli Isolani, former Biancocelesti defender Luigi Corino spoke with Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) to discuss the matchup between the two squads in addition to a few Lazio players.

It is vital that Lazio wins against Cagliari. The championship is anomalous, anything can happen, but I don’t want the Biancocelesti’s season getting out of balance.

Muriqi? In slightly complicated games, he can come in handy and solve some problems.

Reina? He is so essential for Lazio. When he calls for the ball, everyone leaves it to him. When Strakosha does it, someone does not listen and sends the ball out of play for a corner kick. However, he [Strakosha] remains an important part of the club.

Considering all of the goalkeepers in Italy, Thomas is in the top five or six.

Going up against the clubs ahead of them in the standings isn’t a guarantee for the Biancocelesti to come away with three or a single point considering the challenge they’ll present.

Nonetheless, if Lazio can take care of business against those behind them and secure points in fixtures against clubs in front of them, then it could result in them finishing in the top four.
