Sarri Asks Milinkovic-Savic to Be the Leader in Lazio’s Next Game vs Galatasaray

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has pointed to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to be the leader in tomorrow’s game against Galatasaray.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 26-year-old Serbian midfielder will be expected to lead the Biancocelesti squad on the pitch tomorrow, should talismanic striker Ciro Immobile miss the clash due to his knee injury.

Milinkovic-Savic will be the captain and leader for Lazio, and he’ll even be playing further up the pitch, sometimes doubling up as a shadow centre forward against Galatasaray.

The Serbian midfielder will also be expected to contribute in the build-up phase as well, highlighting his importance to both the squad and coach Sarri.

Milinkovic-Savic’s recent goal against Sampdoria saw him become Lazio’s all-time top scoring midfielder, overtaking previous record holder Pavel Nedved.

The 26-year-old Serbian midfielder, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2024, has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1420 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided five assists.
