Pain & Anger for Immobile Following Injury in Lazio’s 4-0 Loss to Milan

Lazio star Ciro Immobile did not have a good evening last night, suffering an injury in the embarrassing 4-0 loss to Milan.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker was taken off in the 68th minute of last night’s loss to the Rossoneri after accidentally kicking Pierre Kalulu whilst trying to take a shot, injuring himself in the process.

The first tests have shown that Immobile has suffered a bruised right foot and the player himself tried to reassure everyone, walking to the Lazio team bus alone without crutches after the match.

On the pitch, however, there was a lot of anger for the Italian striker. He was unimpressed with referee Simone Sozza, who didn’t blow the whistle following his injury, and he was also disappointed that he failed to find the back of the net in a key game.

It’s not been an easy season for Immobile; he’s suffered from thigh problems, a calf issue, knee pain, COVID and a flu in the last few months, and yet he’s still scored 18 goals in 20 Serie A appearances this campaign.
