How will Lazio fare in 2024? The new year looks certain to get off to a fascinating start as the club bid to keep hold of players, sign new stars and move up towards the European places in Serie A.

January is never an easy time for a club both on and off the pitch. The old year has faded into the distance and a winter break is taking place for almost all of the first half. Just what will January bring for Lazio?

Serie A is a fascinating league to watch and also bet on. If you want to be placing wagers you can check Serie A odds here.

Let’s look at the off-the-pitch activities first. Transfer windows are never an easy time for a club but a new kid is in town now. Saudi Arabian clubs will spend January looking for yet more players to join them and play in their professional league as was the case in the summer.

The rumours will be going into overdrive and one is that Ciro Immobile is a major target. He seems to fit the bill for many players the Saudis wish to recruit. He’s in his 30s and getting towards the latter stages of his career but remains a good player. The prospect of huge wages will be a temptation many will find hard to turn down.

Daichi Kamadi would prefer to spend more time on the pitch than on a bench and is another who could be departing soon. Felipe Anderson is also being targeted by other clubs so there could be movement in January.

One problem Lazio have had this season is regularly scoring goals. They need to solve that problem and Monza’s Andrea Colpani could be a potential target for Lazio.

An interesting period of transfer activity is likely but what about Serie A once the season resumes?

Up first for Lazio will be a home game against Lecce on January 13. August saw Lazio lose 2-1 away to them but they struggle on the road. 2024 should start with a home win.

Two away Serie A fixtures follow against Torino on the 20th and Udinese three days later. Lazio will be looking to be more consistent on their travels in 2024. Neither of the two sides played away in January are doing that well though Udinese are draw specialists.

January ends with Lazio hosting Napoli on the 27th and that should be an absolute cracker of a game. Napoli’s title defence certainly hasn’t gone as planned, especially with all the managerial changes. They remain strong on the road though and Lazio will do well to get three points. It should be a great way to end a fascinating start to the new year.
