Stefan de Vrij faced questions from the media at the Dutch national team’s training camp ahead of the upcoming international friendly fixtures.
When asked about a possible move to Inter, the seemingly most-likely destination for the Dutchman, de Vrij responded by saying:
“I understand that you’re curious about that. Now I just want to finish my season with Lazio in the best possible way, I’m with the national team now and I can’t respond to all the rumors which circulate in the media.“
When asked about potentially becoming the captain of the Netherlands national side, de Vrij exclaimed that:
“Could I captain the national team? Who wouldn’t like that? It would be an honour. Once Van Persie gave me the armband and I couldn’t believe it, but it really happened.”
The Dutch national team will play against England on the 23rd March before playing against Portugal on the 26th.
