Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha is giving his take on whether he would be interested in a possible move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
Strakosha’s campaign this season has not quite panned out the way he had hoped it would. After years of being a regular starter for Lazio out at the goalkeeper position, he has now fallen behind Pepe Reina in the depth chart.
With a low eight total appearances in all competitions so far this season, there have been noted rumors regarding a possible move to Dortmund. And in speaking to Sky Sports Germany (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), he responded to the rumors where while he did not give a full declaration on his ambition to this possible move, he did allude to some interest in such a transfer.
A great club, they have a very young and talented team and an incredible stadium. It could be a great step in my career. Who wouldn’t be interested in playing in such a club? The Bundesliga is an interesting league, with good teams.
Even with his lowly campaign this season, Strakosha is still pleased with his current run with Lazio.
I’m relaxed and I still have enough time to think about I want to get fit first, then we’ll see what happens. I’m happy at Lazio, and I’m very grateful to them. I think the club is happy with me too.
Strakosha will continue to scrap for any playing time over the remainder of the ongoing season.
Would be silly of Lazio to sell him. He is a good and young goalkeeper and Pepe Reina who is currently the number 1 is 39 years old, so he wouldn’t remain for a long time at the club. So probably Stakosha will be back sooner or later as first choice.
I don’t think Lazio will sell Thomas Strakosha he follen out of number one because of injuries as soon as he is fit is number one again reina will help him with his experience.
