Parma Coach D’Aversa: “Lazio Are a Complete Team, It Won’t Be Easy”

Parma coach Roberto D’Aversa underlined the strengths of Lazio ahead of tomorrow evening’s match.

Speaking via Parma’s official outlets (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the 45-year-old Italian coach looked ahead to the game tomorrow against the Biancocelesti.

We’re certainly going through a strange moment, but maybe that’s why the best thing is to go on the pitch tomorrow and try to react to the last defeat, which came against a team as important as Atalanta.

It won’t be easy, we’ll face Lazio, a team that is aiming for a place in the Champions League.

It’s a challenge full of pitfalls, but we’ll take to the pitch to do well, to put the opponent in difficulty and to honour our profession and our shirt.

He touched on tomorrow’s opponents, Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio.

We’ll be facing a team that is still in the running for their season-long objective and will try to win all three of their last games.

We’ll have to be very careful with their speed, technique and physicality, because they’re a complete team and it’s no coincidence that they’re in that position in the table.

We’ll have to try to stay compact, we have to help each other on the pitch and capitalise on the chances we manage to create.

The Parma coach commented on the absences in the squad ahead of the match.

As has often happened this season, we have a lot of absences, even Kucka won’t be there and we’re managing the load a little bit considering the three games in seven days, but I’m sure that those who will take to the pitch will give their contribution and will make the most of the occasion.

Finally, D’Aversa discussed the mindset that Parma need when facing the Biancocelesti.

It will be fundamental to remain attentive, concentrated, and limit mistakes as much as possible because we’ve seen too many times that in Serie A, especially against teams like Lazio, every mistake is paid for dearly, but with all the will and determination to hit the opponent and bring home the result.

Parma currently sit 19th in the Serie A table after 35 games on 20 points. Their relegation to Serie B has been confirmed now that there are only three games left and 12 points to play for; The Emilian side are 14 points behind 17th place Spezia.

It’s been a long and tough season for Parma, whose only wins this season came against Hellas Verona in October, Genoa in November and Roma in March.

Lazio won their first meeting this season 2-0 and also beat the Emilian side in the Coppa Italia 2-1.
