Lazio star Ciro Immobile has set an incredible Serie A goal contribution record after yesterday’s 3-0 win over Fiorentina.
As reported by OptaPaolo on Twitter last night, the 31-year-old Italian striker has been involved in at least 20 goals in all of the last six Serie A seasons, something no other player has managed to do more than three times.
This highlights Immobile’s impressive consistency for Lazio, and is why he is considered the talisman of the Roman team. His contract lasts until 2026 and he’s the trusted captain of the squad.
This season, the 31-year-old Italian star has scored 18 goals and provided two assists in 20 Serie A appearances, only failing to score against Atalanta, Sassuolo, Napoli, Fiorentina and Milan.
Immobile is currently nursing a slight reoccurring knee injury, but he is still performing up to scratch for coach Maurizio Sarri, and he’ll likely play a full match in next week’s Coppa Italia clash against Milan.
