Sarri Expects Six Signings After Renewing Contract With Lazio

Maurizio Sarri has signed a contract renewal with Lazio and he’s now expecting six new signings to arrive this summer.

The 63-year-old Italian coach reportedly put pen to paper on the contract renewal last night, extending his stay in Rome until 2025. This is wonderful news for Lazio as the coach’s project in Rome has now been confirmed, allowing serious building work to begin this summer.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sarri now expects important transfer work in the coming months as he looks for a squad overhaul, wanting around six new players to arrive.

Sarri has a clear plan for many positions in the Lazio squad: Matteo Carnesecchi in goal, Alessio Romagnoli and Nicolo Casale in defence and Dries Mertens in attack. Other important reinforcements needed include a new left back and a new midfielder.

Currently only Marcos Antonio is close to arriving, meaning Igli Tare and Claudio Lotito will have to work hard over the coming months to please the 63-year-old Italian coach.
