Official: Vavro Returns to FC Copenhagen on Loan From Lazio

Denis Vavro has officially returned to FC Copenhagen on a six-month loan deal from Lazio.

As announced by FC Copenhagen earlier today, the 25-year-old Slovakian centre back has joined the Danish side on a six-month loan deal with a buy option attached. The player previously spent two years with the club from 2017 to 2019 before joining the Biancocelesti.

Discussing the return to FC Copenhagen, Vavro said:

F.C. Copenhagen means a lot to me.

I had a great time here in my first period at the club and I’m really looking forward to playing in Parken again and getting back to life at the club.

I have kept in touch with many of the players and staff here, which I look forward to seeing them again every day. I arrive with one goal and that is to help FCK become champions this summer. I will give 100 percent to achieve this.

The 25-year-old Vavro, who is contracted to Lazio until 2024, never really settled in the Italian capital, falling out of favour with coach Simone Inzaghi quickly and failing to ever convince his successor Maurizio Sarri.

The Slovakian centre back made 21 appearances across all competitions in his two and a half years with the Biancocelesti, for a total of 878 minutes. In that time, he never made a strong impression and could not displace Francesco Acerbi and Luiz Felipe in the back line.
