Lazio to Accelerate for Talented Torino Midfielder Ricci

Lazio are gearing up to make a move for Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci following the sale of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Biancocelesti sold the star Serbian midfielder to Al-Hilal for around €42 million total this week, giving them vital resources to carry out their summer transfer market plans.

Lazio had hoped to pick up Lucas Torreira to replace him but talks with Galatasaray have stalled and things have fallen quiet in recent weeks.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have decided to move forward for Ricci, with president Claudio Lotito meeting his Torino counterpart Urbano Cairo today to start discussing a move.

The Granata value the talented 21-year-old at around €25-30 million and the Biancocelesti could look to include Matteo Cancellieri in the deal in order to lower the overall costs.

Ricci impressed last season under Ivan Juric, scoring two goals and providing one assist across 28 Serie A appearances, seeing over 2000 minutes of league action.

  1. Why on earth have Torino in this mercato have so many options to sell. I mean imagine if they let Liverpool get Schuurs they practically need not to sell anyone else if they don’t want to and invest quiet a bit from the sale. Bloody Juric.

The good thing is that Ivan likes Cancellieri and will make sure he flourishes so we shall keep a % of the re sale clause or include a buyback clause if possible.

As for Ricci if Sare gave the green light 🆗 and go.
