Igor Tudor Agrees to Become New Lazio Head Coach

Lazio have reportedly agreed to the terms of a deal with Igor Tudor, who is expected to become the new long-term coach following Maurizio Sarri’s resignation.

Sarri unexpectedly resigned from the Biancocelesti on Tuesday following the painful 2-1 loss to relegation candidates Udinese, the match that proved to be one defeat too many for the Italian tactician, who felt he’d lost the support of the dressing room.

Lazio are currently being led by his assistant coach Giovanni Martusciello but president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Angelo Fabiani have been hard at work trying to quickly find a replacement. The club are still competing for a spot in Europe in Serie A and will face Juventus in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.

As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio have agreed to the terms of a deal with Tudor, who is expected to sign a one-year contract lasting until June 2025 with an option for a second year linked to an easily achievable objective, likely some form of European qualification.

The Croatian coach, who was most recently in charge of Olympique Marseille, is expected to be announced as the new Biancocelesti coach at some point next week.
