Sarri Furious With Lazio Following Disappointing January Transfer Window

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is deeply dissatisfied with Lazio following a painfully insufficient January transfer window.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the additions of Jovane Cabral from Sporting and Dimitrije Kamenovic have done little to appease the 63-year-old Italian coach after weeks of waiting for reinforcements.

Sarri asked for players ready to immediately jump into his project and instead was given a 21-year-old Serbian defender who did not convince and a 23-year-old Cape Verdean winger, not a centre forward, who is already showing signs of being injury prone.

The Italian coach is not considering resigning from Lazio, but he is expecting significant investments to be made in this summer’s transfer window, and if this is not the case, then it’s unlikely that he’ll put pen to paper for the promised contract extension.

Lazio currently sit 8th in the Serie A table after 23 games, seven points behind 4th place Atalanta.
