Immobile at Injury Risk Going Into Lazio’s Serie A Clash Against Fiorentina

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile is going into this evening’s match against Fiorentina with a knee issue.

As reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker is suffering from discomfort in the collateral bone of his left knee, the same injury that pushed him to the sidelines back in November after causing a calf issue.

Lazio Coach Sarri Notes There’s “Nothing More to Say” About January Transfer Market

Immobile’s pain has resurfaced and he’ll have to keep it under control over the next few weeks, as Lazio have an incredibly busy schedule ahead, playing seven games in 20 days.

The 31-year-old Italian striker will have to play in all of them unless coach Maurizio Sarri decides to take the plunge and try using Felipe Anderson as a false nine.

The signing of Jovane Cabral from Sporting did little to alleviate the situation, as the Cape Verdean is more of a winger than a true centre forward.

In recent transfer markets, Lazio have sold Joaquin Correa, Felipe Caicedo and Vedat Muriqi, forcing Sarri to find new solutions in the second half of this season.
